2010 Africa Biblio’Brousse

Biblio’Brousse, a bus dedicated to multimedia resources and culture in Burkina Faso, offers basic training in computer skills and multimedia tools for young people aged 15-20, in partnership with high-school educational teams.

Biblio’Brousse: young volunteers in Burkina Faso working with new technologies

In 2008 and 2009, Create Joy participated in the financing of volunteer missions in Burkina Faso dedicated to organizing and coordinating training sessions.
By introducing computers and new technologies, it is possible to allow everyone access to information so as to improve their employment opportunities and to give them a window to the rest of the world. The Biblio'Brousse computer training leads to a National Diploma, recognized by the Education Department of Burkina Faso.
To date, more than 6,000 people, most under age 25, have been trained through Biblio’Brousse.

Since February 2010, the bus settled down in Bobo-Dialousso and opened few more classes with computers. More than 600 young people are trained every week.

Vivendi Create Joy fund renewed its partnership for 2010-2011. Biblio’Brousse and Onatel (Maroc Telecom subsidiary in Burkina Faso) are in contact to enlarge the partnership.
